Supermarkets

The resort shop is a handy convenience store located adjacent to Guest Services, which stocks holiday essentials and some lovely local Cornish produce. If that doesn’t cater for your needs, you can find supermarkets in nearby St Columb Major, Wadebridge and Padstow.

St Columb Major has a small Co-op that is open until late.

Wadebridge has a Tesco Superstore, an Aldi and a M&S Simply Food on West Hill (on the outskirts of the town as you enter from Retallack) and a Lidl in the town centre. It also has smaller convenience stores in the form of Co-op and Spar.

Padstow has a much smaller Tesco Super(?)store on the A389 as you go into town. There is a Londis convenience store on the edge of town and a Spar in the centre.

The nearest Sainsbury’s can be found in Newquay and Bodmin.

There is a Morrisons on the edge of Newquay and also one in Bodmin.

You will find Asda stores in Newquay, Bodmin and St Austell.

If you can’t live without Waitrose, you will have to make the longer trip to Truro or visit the one at Okehampton or Saltash on the way down.

Artisan food

There are lots of great places to buy locally-produced produce. We list some below that we have enjoyed and are happy to endorse. If you would like to recommend additional vendors, please let us know via the Contact page.

Baker Tom in Wadebridge produces fantastic bread and pastries. Opening hours are 08.30-15.00, but if you arrive after 2pm, you are likely to find any remaining loaves on BOGOF!

If you are after a pasty, then head for Padstow and you will be spoilt for choice. The Cornish Bakery tops the Tripadvisor list.

If you are looking for something genuinely home-made, try the roadside stall in Treburrick (on the way to Porthcothan) where you will find excellent cakes, pastries, jams and chutneys.

There is an excellent deli store at The Arc in the Hawksfield shopping centre on the A39 on the way to Wadebridge.
